Kurinuki style pottery

Kurinuki style pottery

Kurinuki is a japanese word for hollowing out. Pottery made in this style is often asymmetric, and rough because both inside and outside of the pot is formed by deducting, hollowing out, cutting off.

Three things you did not know about kurinuki style pottery:

1) They can be both handbuilt or wheelthrown. You welcome.

2) They can be functional or dysfunctional! :-) I mean decorative.

3) You can decorate them just like any other garden variety pot.
